Sad to hear. Killer bassist. He'd have to be to have played with Hendrix.

Mike Bordin of Ozzy and Faith No More would be slamming as Zep's drummer.
"Abe Jr., Jimmy Page on line two."

Michael Lee seemed to fit nicely with Plant & Page...he just needs to play Kashmir like Bonzo with that accented BD beat on 1e. We've all heard those covers a bazillion times, play it like the master!!! There's a Zep cover band in LA and the guy is "lazy" (IMO) towards John's classic accents.
YOU'RE PLAYIN' IN A ZEP COVER BAND!!!!!!!!!

Originally Noel Redding was a guitarist until he was offered the Hendrix job. As you know the bassist for the Animals, Chas Chandler, 'discovered' Jimi and brought him to England. Chandler's oddball scheme was for Hendrix to be in a big group with horns, keyboards and another guitarist: Noel Redding. Maybe Chas thought he'd play bass but Jimi, Mitch and Noel decided otherwise.
We're losing the golden oldies left and right; Entwistle and Redding both gone in a matter of months. Baker, Bruce and Clapton need to cash out and tour NOW!

Sorry to hear about Redding...2/3 of the famous Hendrix trio line-up gone...57 seems kinda "young," so to speak...then again, 4 a hall-of-fame rock n roller, maybe it's OLD ...
I wonder how Mitch is doing these days?
U guys got it...hey, the Doors are doing it w/out Morrison, & the Dead r doing it w/out Jerry...
...or maybe Zep w/ another name drummer again?!!...just imagine....
Phil, Tony, & Mike; or even Andy, Stew, & Gordon[?!] - r u listening? How about Steve Perry & the guys, [e-gad - yes - i said JRNY *gulp* - sorry, i liked em; OK, i wont go as far as to say Asia or GTR ]; or DLRoth & VH? ELP? How about Bozzio, Wetton, & Jobson [or another talented violinist & maybe keys &/or gtr]... Good thing Kansas, Rush, Tull, Styx [minus DeYoung & J Panozzo, of course], & Yes still tour....

Fuse, the last I heard Mitch was living in Savannah, Georgia. I actually saw him in a crowd of drummers in Nashville at a Freddie Gruber clinic, frosted hair and all. My wife's cousin got an autograph just before he ducked out the backdoor.

Agree, 5/8 - Bordin would most likely seem to do just fine w/ a Zep re-u...i can think of a few other players that might prob fit in AW...
Was Kashmir in fact actually a 2nd kick on the [1]-E, or was it a delay effect in the recording studio? I'm in agreement w/ Pocket, tho...while playing along to that song, I've always put in that [slightly less-accented] extra kick on the "e," regardless...the Drum/Beat Police should cite any1 who wouldn't throw it in, since it's so obviously there in the mix...that is undeniably an almost un4giveable "musical faux pas"... almost worse than the way John Mover [a fine drummer, IMHO] w/ GTR covered that Yes tune [Roundabout]....
